I grew up with Labradors in my family. My first Lab was a wonderful black boy named Chief in 1978. He was a wonderful family companion. We are active in AKC conformation shows and just getting into the AKC obedience. I have been a 4H leader in Dog Training for over 4 years. Teaching children how to train their dogs and become a team is so rewarding. It is wonderful to watching them learn together, watching their love together grow more and more. I am active in serveral dog Clubs/Groups.
Here at Elkens Labradors our goal is to produce quality all around Labradors that are bred to the AKC standard. Labs that are healthy, sound in temperment, sound in body, as well as beautiful. We want our Labradors to be able to go from the show ring to the hunt field and back to their families house to be that sweet wonderful family/house dog. A Labrador you will be Proud to Own and Love.
We stay to the AKC standards of the Labrador Retriever. Temperment is very important! A Labrador must be a friendly loving family companion and a worthy hunting partner.
We breed Yellows from Foxred to Light Cream and Blacks.
Soundness is of primary importance here at Elkens Labradors. All of our breeding dogs are certified through OFA (Orthopaedic Foundation for Animals) program for their hips and elbows. OFA's web site it www.offa.org Their eyes are checked and cleared annually through CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation).
All our puppies are raised in our home so we can provide the start of the special attention and socialization they need to become great adult dogs.
All our puppies are sold on a limited AKC registeration. They come with a five generation pedigree, de-wormed, first shots, vet checked, health record, puppy food, puppy kit which provides feeding guide, lots of information on how to raise and how to care for your puppy.
Our kennel name Elkens Labradors comes from my wonderful husband Ken and my name Eleonore (EL) combined to create ELKENS. Our kennel name Elkens Labradors is registered with AKC. |
