ElKens Breeding Program
The name ElKens is derived from mine and my husband's names (Eleanore & Ken). I have been breeding Labrador retrievers for over 38 years. Our daughter, Olivia, has joined me and has become a great asset to ElKens!
Our breeding lines have the desire to become outstanding gentleman's hunting companions, but they also have sound, bench-style temperaments that make them wonderful family companions or therapy dogs.
No compromises—we only breed to AKC standards of Yellows (light cream to our favorite shade of Foxred), Blacks, and Chocolates. No dilutes!.. Health clearances (OFA Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Heart) and DNA panels (PRA, EIC, etc.) are completed before breeding. We take pride in our lines being healthy, dating back many generations!

Puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration.
AKC Limited Registration means that your puppy will be registered with the AKC, but no litters by that dog are eligible to be registered. However, your beautiful and unique Lab will be eligible to enter any of the thousands of licensed or member events, including Good Citizen, Obedience, Field Trials, Hunting Tests, Farm Dog, Rally, and Agility!

Puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract.
We highly recommend waiting until your puppy has matured and finished growing (earliest is 18 months).

We will always take back a puppy (and/or help it find a new home) if your homelife has changed and you're unable to take care of it anymore). Please stay in touch!

Our boys are only available as studs to approved bitches that have had clearances completed.
